I topdressed 5 ton of compose over drought damaged turf turf today. #1 i opened up the surface with the aerator, #2 applied seed,fert and tuppersan. #3 topdressed with compose. #4 fine graded the compose & seeded the surface. This tractor is tha cats *****!

how long did it take?

How did you spread the compost? That seems like the most challenging part of the job for me.

Compost (my spelling suffers when im tired) is very light, i just dressed the entire lawn with my loader and hand raked it, it took a few hours to rake in. Tuppersan is the only crabgrass prevention chemical that you can seed with. The full job, hauling machine, trucking compost,etc, was a full day, 9 hours.

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping for something more magical, or tractor related, than a hand rake. I guess some things you can't get around, eh? Would your process help a lumpy lawn? I have very patchy grass so it's extremely bumpy. I think I need some fill between the clumps of existing grass with new seed too.

Compost is so rich with organic matter & easy to work with, its the low labor fix for a bumpy lawn. I have actually rented alphalt rollers to level & repair bad lawns.

That's not something you see everyday!! But I'm sure it works well. I should do that on my lawn.

SRS you can come do my pasture when you are donei have 1' wide 2' tall 1' spaced ripples in my pasture and its on a 10-25+ grade
