Question for you 10 series cab tractor owners. I have a 6110 here that the side air vents blow little to nothing on the side and rear windows. I lifted the cab roof to inspect and discovered that only the vents that are ducted are up front. Side and rear vents are not. Are you guys with these tractors getting adequate air flow to defrost the side windows? :confused3:

I have a 2655 Cab which is pretty much just the newest version of a 5010. It has two front vents that blow hot right on the windshield (if that's where you aim them) and then two others slightly further back just before the bump up in the roof and those only blow luke warm air. The four rearward vents that are unducted are meant to be return air vents.

I keep my front most vents directed on the windshield and use the luke warm vents toward the side doors. Sometimes I'll adjust them to blow toward the back. The heater throws enough heat to roast you out after about 15 minutes of warming up on a 10 degree day, and I mean like you could sit in your underwear and still break a sweat. Once warmed up I rarely have the heat selector set above half way and the fan on speed level 2.

As far as defrosting, I have no issues since it can get so warm in the cab. It's just a matter of how long you let it warm up. I park mine under cover so I never have to melt a layer of ice or a thick layer of frost off the glass. To keep from getting fogged up on the inside I just turn the A/C on since that dehumidifies the air even with the heat on so there isn't any moisture to fog up the glass on the inside.

Here are a couple pics I had from the website showing the duct layout in the 2655 so you can see how it compares to yours:

If your having problems with windows fogging up put a little dish soap on wet cloth and smear windows down with it and it will make a big difference.

Update. Found out today from Mahindra that the side and rear vents are for cab air recirculation not to blow air on the side and rear windows. opening the vents pulls air from the cab rather that outside.
