Thought I'd share this with you. A couple of months ago my wife got a call that we were picked for a survey. And that they would pay us $100 to answer some questions. They were to call back when I was home from work. Naturally skeptical, I asked what the hitch was, was the $100 in the form of a coupon, or rebate. No hitches, $100 cash.

So an appointment was setup, three people came out and asked a lot of questions about CUT's, why I bought what I did, the dealer, uses, etc.

At the end of the interview, they came out and said they were an independent agency working for John Deere. That they were interviewing owners of all makes, I just happen to own JD, and that JD was interested in CUT owners' opinions and what they wanted in a tractor.

When it was finished they handed me a $100 bill (which my wife got of course) and left.

I thought it was kind of neat to know that JD is out hitting the streets. And the cash was nice too.

All of us on TBN express our opinions everyday and WE don't get a hundred bucks.....! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Actually, I'm more envious than sad. We need a GREEN instant face!

Congrats Bill. I was asked to complete an online survey on tractors a while back and all I got paid was $5 in the form of redeemable 'points.' /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My neighbor just got called yesterday from JD and received $25.00 for a survey. He said it took 15 minutes. A lady questioned him on everything he could possibly think of. Two questions he recalls answering to other then "fine" were. If you bought another tractor, what would you change? He said he would get a Hydrostatic transmission (he's been using mine). The other question was, what was the most influencing factor for buying a John Deere tractor? His answer "I like the green color". That was it and JD will send him $25. Pretty good. JD's got some great things going for it, color being a minor one. Rat...

I just hope they listen to all the suggestions. Some of mine were: it needs a bigger glovebox, toolbox, or option for one; seat needs to withstand two years of use (mine is separated); and rubber mat is nice but it catches moisture and causes floor to rust.

herbenus,

I got a phone call from a friendly woman who spent about 20 mins with me about two weeks ago. She said I'd receive $25.00 cash in 4-6 weeks. A lot of time was spent comparing Deere to Kubota, and in profiling my uses of the tractor.

The part I remember most was when she was asking questions on how I use my CUT -- plowing ... mowing...digging..tilling ... and so forth. The interview at this point was getting long and I was getting tired. I did not realize the the interview had turned to personal questions like household incomes, number of people in the house etc... when she asked: "How often do you entertain?". Well, being a member of TBN, the question of entertaining with my tractor was a natural one and I answered: Never. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There have been several times on my tractor when I would have been entertaining. Luckily no one was watching.
