Do you have any 100o rpm implements?

If your tractor is equiped with a 540/1000 selector, do you use the 1000 rpm speed with any of your 540 rpm implements?

I am considering disabling the 1000rpm on my tractor during a repair to the 540 gearing to fix damage caused becuase it did not fully engage. the lack of proper contact was like due to some parts coming out of adjustment over time.

Rather than disabling the 1000rpm PTO internally, why not just rig up some type of mechanical interlock with the lever? That way, if you ever sold it and wanted that feature back, you wouldn't have to go back inside to replace it.

I don't have any 1000 rpm attachments myself, but I just can't think of any reason why someone would want to run an attachment at a speed other than what it was designed for? Especially if it was new and under warranty.

I once had a Zetor with both speeds. Never did get a PTO generator but had given thought to setting it up as a 1000 RPM system if I had 2x HP required for the generator and just run engine RPM's to give 540 PTO speed to save fuel and noise.

Yup, that is a BIG reason to have a 1000 RPM PTO - gear fast, run slow.

I have both 540/1000 and sometimes use the 1000 option doing light chipping or snow blowing a light snow fall. If I set the throttle at about 1550 on the tach, I get 540 at the PTO. This works well, saves a little fuel, and creates much less noise

All the 1000 rpm attachments I have ever used had a different spline than 540 rpm attachments. Our 1086 International had two shafts on the back and the JD 4440 you had to change the shafts. Our siliage cutters and sprayers were 1000 rpm and we had one batwing that was 1000 rpm. I've never run into a 1000 rpm attachment for a CUT.
I did have a Kubota that had two different 540 rpm selections, one for low engine speed and one for high depending on the torque needed.
