Have a new 1025, delivered with a FEL and 60in Belly mower, Power Flo blower, Chute and Grass collection system. Have been driving it around with light mowing and light FEL tasks, with all this equipment attached, to familiarize myself with everything. Haven't detached anything yet. Main problem is that the tractor engine gives me overheating warnings after just a few minutes of light duty, warning light on dash with message "Engine De Hea" appearing in the LED window and the arrow in the gauge going over into the hot range. Engine oil and coolant are full and the screen in front of the radiator is clean. Have trouble believing this engine can't handle light duty, even with that equipment attached and the Texas heat, without overheating. What am I missing? Any advice appreciated. Tarzane

Sounds like a warranty repair issue. The only things that come to mind are a plugged up radiator, a stuck thermostat or bad water pump. No overheat problems with my 1025r FILB..

Stop using the machine and call your dealer. Something isn't right.

Thank you, Nikdfish and dkjbama. I called my John Deere Dealer and they're coming out to pick up the tractor and take it to their shop!Tarzane

Mine runs low on the temperature gauge. Wish they'd put a thermostat in to make it run nearer the middle of the gauge, for fuel economy.

Something wrong with yours.

May want to pull the screen behind the radiator and check the water pump flow

What makes you think it has no t-stat?

My 3720 initially over heated as well. Overflow reservoir was at the correct level, so I letter cool down some, then removed the radiator cap. I could see the fins. Took about 1/2 gallon of Sca coolant to top it up. Don't know if its a design flaw or what, but the radiator failed to draw in coolant from the reservoir. But topping up the radiator just that one time over 2 years ago, and its never overheated since

Swick1, William Bos, ccsial and Greg_g, thanks very much for your suggestions. I'm learning a lot. If John Deere comes back and tells me they can't find the problem, I'll be able to give them some guidance! Tarzane
