Fellow TBN'ers,
I have a 1040 loader on my 1455v, and I have a question about the hydraulics... My particular loader has a cable controlled valve, rather than the loader mounted valve.

I was looking for a "float" function, but there doesn't seem to be one, or the detent is VERY stiff. (I'm afraid to break the cables, which are expensive, so I've not really leaned into it, but the MF1533 I've used, it is fairly easy to engage float...)

What I did find is that the lever will move farther rearward, at which point the loader lifts very quickly. So normal travel is kinda slow, and all the way back lifts really quickly.

Just curious about these features, and if anyone can confirm that my valve really does'nt have a float position.

Thanks for whatever info you can provide!!

Well, the crickets and I may have figured it out...

I believe the joystick cables are swapped, either at the valve or at the joystick. The hydraulics would also be swapped, but they're not marked, so we just hooked them up until it worked right... I think the fast raise function is supposed to be fast dump, and there may be float too, but the joystick probably doesn't have eough side-to-side travel to get to it... I'm going to do a little cable swapping and hose swapping and see if it doesn't make things quite a bit happier... The dump speed is pretty slow, so I'm far more likely to appreciate fast dump than fast raise at the least!

A whole thread just for me...
So I printed the schematic out of the online parts catalog (thanks Agco!) and compared it to my setup...

Based on cable location, my loader control joystick is installed 90° wrong... It currently kinda sticks in the dump position, and raises fast. I'm thinking it should stick in boom down, which might be float, and it should quick dump...

I'm going to turn it 90° and see what happens.

Without more detailed info, I think this is about the best I'll be able to do, but it'll be good enough. :)

Confirmed. Just turned the control 90° and then re-connected the hoses. Now I have quick dump, which I think is also called "regen". No float, but I can live without that. :)

I was following your thread, just didn't have any input.

Glad that fixed it.
