We have a "remote" pasture that we sometimes but the horses in. For a number of reasons, I can not run a water line to it.

The wife and FiL have been filling the 100 gallon water tank using a 35 gallon transfer tank in the back of the UTV. They have been gravity feeding the trough from the tank in the back of the UTV. Obviously, this takes forever.

I am wondering if getting a small 12 VDC transfer pump would speed the process?

If so, are there any recommendations?

I would think any small continuous 35gpm 12V pump would work. $40-50 bucks..

I guess it depends upon how long it takes the transfer tank to drain down by gravity and how much you want to spend on a transfer pump. I see that a complete 12 V setup starts at around $60 and they go up from there.

I've never used a small unit. I've got a big 'ol 4" gas powered trash pump that will fill a 1000 gallon tank before you can find a good place to sit down.

How long is it taking to drain the tank via gravity? $40 pump from hf should do it in like 10 min. Seems like you need a bigger transfer tank.....
