1282 Cub Cadet possible sell

What would this 1282 Cub Cadet sell for? Kholer engine rebuilt, deck is solid, need battery, but start and run good.

I'm very confused I thought the red one's were done in1982.Also i saw a 182 some place i didn't know about them either .Is their a web site or a book that has ALL the IH cubs and cub cadets models made?

I believe the 1282 was built after Cub was bought from IH by MTD. The IH dealers who stayed on to sell the Cub Cadet brand continued to sell the Red 82 series. There were also independent Cub Cadet dealers, they sold the Yellow and White Cub tractors, the 680 was the same as the 1282. The big difference after being bought by MTD was that the 82 series went away from the cast iron rear end and went to the black axle aluminum rear end. I know there are those out there who have a lot more knowledge than I, but hopefully this gets you in the right direction.

Vince is correct about the 1282's not being built by IH. The y are a Cub Cadet Corporation(CCC) built tractor. The red cub cadets were built until 1985 I believe. The red cubs below serial number 720,000 had cast iron rear ends while anything above has a aluminum rear end.

The 1282 was built from 82-85.
Serials as follows;

82 - 700000
83 - 712900
84 - 724525
85 - 737625

They retailed from $3600-3800. Average price these days is 300-600.
