Lately I've been getting some strange readings from the battery with my digital multimeter. Hoping someone can help.

With a fresh battery I get a solid 12'6-12'8 reading when engine is off. When running (no matter what rpm) the reading jumps erratically from 1 - 14.1and everything in between extremely quickly. It's hard to explain but it doesn't ever settle on 14ish the whole.time.

Happens on both my mf35 & grey Fergie and I've tried different multimeters. Just to prove it wasn't a device issue my neighbour showed me his grey Fergie and it stays between 13.8-14.1.

I've replaced all cabling on grey Fergie and even had an ammeter gauge and the needle was steady at around 14.

Any ideas why's the multimeter would be acting this way?
