I now have loaded 13.6X16 turfs on my NH T1510. They are the Titan Multitrac C&S. Opinions on how they will be in snow with chains on blacktop? I live in the snowbelt of WNY, so a 2 or 3 footer a few times a year is common. I do have a rear blower..... One drive is stone, but a neighbor I take care of has a NICE blacktop drive....... Do link space chains chew pavement? Thanks to all

I've found turfs to work quite well in snow...I use chains because my drive is quite long and steep and we get ice storms on occasion. If you have no appreciable slope, I bet you'll do fine without chains ...is your tractor 4wd? Do you have a FEL on the front? can you lift your tractor with it ...if so, front chains are easy to install if you get into trouble and cheaper than rears ...If you are comfortable with the purchase, I would get them and hold in reserve. Four link ladder chains will work fine on your turfs (although the ride will not be as comfortable as two-link ladders.) and make sure you have chain tensioners.

As for what the chains do to blacktop ...same as they would on a car or truck; does your neighbor use them on his/her vehicle, ever?

But, I am betting you won't need them with your blower and relatively flat drives. As far as 2-3 foot storms, since you are blowing and not pushing (plowing) the depth matters relatively little, just take it easy (I'm hoping you have HST, otherwise, blowers are hard on clutches in big storms as is the pack-down that the plows leave at the end of your drive.

Yes, it's a 4WD and hydro. My street is steep. They close part of my road in the winter because the plows have a hard time. I do keep the FEL on in the winter. My neighbor does not have chains. But...... Keeping front chains in case I have a hard time..... That's a god idea. Thanks for the idea. By the way, you live in a beautiful state.

In the two years I have had my 2520 with turf tires, I have been shocked at how much traction I get. I have a front mount snowblower and a short, steep hill at the bottom of the drive (the worst place!) and never seem to have any issues even in 2WD. I only put it in 4WD when ice is an issue and need all 4 wheels to look for purchase - maybe twice a winter. If you are worried about you drive and chains, I would think it worth looking a at the "rubber tire chains". That said, if I get any chains it will be for ground engaging work in the mud...

I have turf tires on my Kubota with 4 wheel drive and a front mount snowblower. We get a lot of snow in our area and I have been entirely happy with them for snow moving, without chains.

If I can my 2 cents.
To me turfs very much resemble automotive snow tires so by tread design they sure give me confidance.
AND if you need additional traction, turfs are the easiest to mount chains on.
On my tractor I use turfs and double ladder (every 3 link) chains. Awesome!

I use turfs on all of my tractors to push snow. I've loaded the rears, but other than that no chains and I push snow like a mad man. Even get good traction on ice.

Nice looking Massey..... My T1510 weighs about 2400. Probably close to 3000 with the rears loaded?

You should be fine. Ours weighs 3527 with the same tires. Never needed chains, and rears are not loaded.

They are the same tires, 41 14 20.

Thanks for the compliment by the way. :)
