So it seems my Ford 4000 tractor has 13.9-36 tires on it and need to be replaced soon. It seems this size tire is not too common and tractor data lists the rear rim size as 12.4-38 tractor rim

So what are my options and have you seen any sites/places that sell them reasonably cheap or used? I know nothing of tractors or tires/wheels!

Thanks,

Galaxy makes a 13.6-36 that is close in size

Go on ebay, enter "AG tractor tires". You'll get hundreds of sites. Tucker Tire has everything you can imagine and most are free shipping. They are in Tennessee.

Thank you all for the advice. So if my assumption is right and tractor tires/wheels follow the same principle as car tire/wheels in that the 13.9" is the tire width on the rim and the 36" is the rim cross section so I can use a different tire width as long as whatever tire I buy has the 36" designation I can use it and of course as long as the tire width is not too wide for the rim right???

Yep, as long as your tractor is a 2wd. Varying the rear tire sizes side to side will look a bit weird and in a small way will stress the rear differential because one axle shaft will be spinning at a different rate than the other. But in a tractor this won't be a big deal.

Yes know that part if I was going to buy a smaller tire i'd buy them as a set to avoid that. Thnk you for confirming my assumptions on tire size...

Now I have a few other things I have to address like a stuck knuckle for the driver side lift arm that attaches to the hydraulic lift arm as the pin is stuck in there so I am going to either have to cut it out and get a new one but first I am going to apply a little heat to see if I can get it out and also just had to free up the leveling arm assembly as it was stuck together and had to recut the threads with a die and still have to clean out the cylinder it screws into....
