1320 will move a round bale

Hi, I just thought I would let you fellow TBN'ers known that I just found out that my Ford 1320 will move a 800lbs round bales. I have no picture cause the camera got droped and broke. On the second cutting of hay I am thinking about using the 1320 to mow the hay , and use it to rake, and have my neighbor come in with our old tractor that he bought from us and bale it. The field is ours and the the neighbor just mows and rakes and bales it cause we sold the tractor him , but now we have a tractor i thought about doing the mowing and raking.

Just curious for your guys and gals input on this.

How heavy is that unit? and what kind of mower are you using?
Any hills or is the land flat?

Two things come to mind;
1) Not all round bales ate created equal. Really tight bales will weight more since they are more compacted, so its hard to tell what it weights just be sight.
2) Counter wieght. I have a medium size tractor and still use a counter weight just in case.
A heavy rear blade or mower works well.

Sounds like your asking alot of that tractor. We mow alot of hay and that tractor may not be the best one for the job.How about letting the old ,heavy tractor do it and pay him per bale? good luck either way !! lloyd CT

The mower that i was going to use is a massey ferguson sickle bar mower and a old ford rollbar rake. The feild is flat at the bottom and a medium size hill. The field is only about 5 to 7 acres we use to use the 38 hp massey ferguson 150 to do it all ( 50 -70 acres) but my grandpa sold the tractor and most of the land. By the way i lifted the bale with the 3-point.
