Maybe MikePa will check back here again. I'd like to know where he got the Amsoil, prefereably the synthetic stuff. Also curious as to the $$ difference versus NH's. I paid $28.75 for 5 gal NH 134 and $49.48 for 5 gal NH 200A.

As far as the pwr steering filter...piece of cake. It spins off just like the HST and HYD filters do, except it has a fill cap on top. Just be sure to drain all the fluid first or you'll wash the front of the engine with oil. I took a piece of alum foil and formed it around the steering pump, where the pipe from the filter attaches. Loosen the bolt for the pipe and let it drain. My manual says to use the drain plug under the filter adapter, but I found it easier to drain it at the pump. Plus, you drain ALL the oil that way.

When I did the 300, 600, and 900hr service...all the hydraulic fluid drained from each component, was as clean as the new stuff. Even the front and rear axles were spotless. Kinda makes me wonder if I should listen to my parts guy. Well, anyway...seeing how I skipped changing it at 1200hrs, no worry for now. I know that synthetic does extend the service life, Im just not convinced that I should ignore the manual.

...still undecided /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ordered it online at Amsoil.com.

I'm glad you posted your price for a 5-gal pail of 134. I went back and checked my invoice and realized I'd done the math wrong. I bought 2-1/2 gal pails at $17 each. That's $34 for 5-gal, but oil is always more expensive in smaller quantity pails. It appears if you buy the 134 in the 5-gal pail, it's only slightly higher than the Citgo oil. Anyone else have a recent purchase?

Yup, you're right. My manual says the same thing - fluid change every 1200 hours or 2 years. That will definitely make the service routine a lot easier - disposing of 10 gallons of oil isn't trivial.

I took mine to the local Advanced Auto Parts and dumped it in the oil recycling tank.
