3-Point Hitch 1401 3 point hitch kit

Hello to everyone on here. Im new to this site and find a lot of useful information on here. I have a question though, Im a new owner of a 1401 Yanmar. My tractor has no hitch setup on it. I believe it is set up for a two point hitch. I was looking at ebay and saw this 3 point hitch kit. It states that it is perfect for grey market tractors up to 25 hp. I was wondering if someone could tell me for sure this is what I will need for my tractor. I do realize I will need the top link bracket also. Just thought its better to ask the experts before I take the plunge.

Welcome to Yanmar, first, the 1401 is a great tractor,short wheelbase, 18hp engine, my brother has one. Second, the kit on Ebay will work,except you also need turn buckles,or binders to prevent sway. Ebay has a seller that has them for a reasonable price. Or you could frabricate your own,as I did for my ym1110d,but it was kind of a hassle.

The ebay kit would work, but as mentioned it is not complete for your needs. The alternative is a complete kit from one of the dealers here. Compare the pics below. The first is the pic from the auction and the second is from Hoye Tractor site. Under_20_HP: Yanmar Tractor Parts

I have a 1401D and mine had the toplink bracket, I ordered my kit from Hoye one of the things that you will need besides the kit is the pins for the rockshaft lift arms that will fit thru the holes in the rockshaft arms they were not in the kit and are not in either of the pictures shown.

They are in the photo but NOT included in the kit.

The upper lift arm pins are included in this kit--

I think those pins were added to the kit a few months ago. The top link bracket bolts have also been added to the kit in the last month. It seems we are constantly changing our kits as new parts are released and customers suggest items that we should include/eliminate.

Please feel free to let us know if you think we should add something else to any of the kits.
