after changing my oil for the first time, I found how good a job of making things difficult ISEKI did. I will have to get a little filter wrench, but I have corrected the oil filling problem. The fill port on the side of the motor is so tucked behind the starter and other wiring that you cant hardly get oil into it. After looking at it, I took a short peice ( I beleive it was a 2" nipple ) of 3/4 black pipe with a coulpling on it, screwed into the oil fill port, then used the yellow oil fill cap in the end of the coupling. O-ring seats perfectly on the coupling and almost looks factory. now a standard funnel will work.

Did you look on top of the engine for a fill plug? My 1440 has two fill locations. One on the side of the block which sounds like the one you used and then the one that I use on the top of the valve cover. You couldn't ask for an easier fill plug location.

Yup, what Jerry said. My 1433 is the same; piece of cake to get oil in her!

Using the bottom block fill it seems a simple Transmission oil funnel would work just fine, maybe just cut the end a bit to let more oil flow (on plastic type)

yea, top works great IF YOU HAVE A LONG *** CLEAN *** funnel. I personally do NOT like those long necked funnels, especially for motor oil. Oil stays in the flex or does not get completly cleaned out and now you are introducing collected dirt with your new oil. Got mine fixed up now so I can use a standard small funnel that I can clean, + I have a dozen of those laying around and dont have to look for them.
