Hi, My dealer doesn't seem to know what the differences are between these 2 tractors, besides a year newer. Does anyone else know? He is offering the 1428 4WD with a loader for 12,900.00, but I haven't seen it yet. I only looked at the 1533 when I was there and didn't notice it.

I don't really know where to start. All of the sheet metal is different. The 1400 loaders mounts in the mid and front. The 1500 mount in the mid only with braces to the rear axle. The 1500s have a little bit more hydraulic flow. The 1400 dashes are more square compared to the 1500s.
The shift levers on the 9x3 model have been moved from the center to the side of the operator. The platform has been upgraded, tilt hood, folding ROPS and new seat. The hydrostatic version already had the shift to the outside and the platform was basically like the new style except the floormat. Not sure which you are looking at. Hope that helps.

I think the biggest difference you will see is the cost.
The 1428 is a V tractor (value). Most of the 1428s, mine included, have manual transmissions. The 1528s I've seen have hydros. Personal preference on the trannys. I like the manual transmissions.
There are also some additional bells and whistles on the 1500 series like rubber mats on the operations deck and round verses square head lights.
Both are rated for 28 HP. Be careful, the ratings are at the PTO shaft...so depending on the transmission type, the HP varies.
I've had my 1428 for two plus years and have been extremely pleased with the machine. In fact yesterday it was in the 50s so it got washed and waxed.
