MF 1433/IH 300 Utility
Hello all. I am new to your forum and this is my first post. I have been reading posts for several weeks and you all are a wealth of great info. I have two questions related to my 1433. I bought the tractor about a month ago (46 hours on the tractor) and have only had time to put about 3 hours on it (very sad isn't it?) My first question is about the black smoke I see at startup. Seems like more smoke to me than the Kubota I grew up with (probably opened a can of worms with that comment...not my intention). Tractor runs great and I am thinking that the positioning of the exhaust outlet on the new MF vs. the straight up and down stack on the kubota just makes the smoke at startup seem more intense. What do you see when you all start your tractors? Would you consider what I am seeing normal? I have also noticed that the loader mounting bracket on the right side of the tractor doesn't seem to fit tightly (the pin kind of rattles a bit and without a load it just seems loose on the mount). I think I read an old post where someone had a similar problem with their loader. Ring a bell for anyone? What was the problem/fix? Appreciate any assistance. I look forward to contributing here on your foruma as I use and get to know this tractor better. I sure do like the tractor so far. Thanks.

My 1433 always puffs a small cloud of smoke at start-up. It has since I bought it new 3 or more years ago; I don't think it's much of an issue.

Loader mount; I don't know. My pins are all pretty tight...

I have a little smoke when I crank, and the amount seems to vary with temp and humidity.
I had a problem with the loader rattling when not under a load, and when I complained at the dealer they were aware of the problem. They removed the loader and welded some plate to the top of the mounting brackets on each side to tighten up the connection. This makes it a little more difficult to mount the loader because it's a tight fit, but greatly reduces the rattles.

The less smoke to a point at start up is a result of the EPA. A diesel will smoke at start up, at least some.
