my loader valve appears to be pouring fluid out of the rear of the unit. The bucket started drifting upwards when I noticed that a small leak was getting progressively worse. Had to finish the job and pushed it to far. The bucket got stuck in the full upwards position. I release the couples and the bucket lowered enough to transport and sore in pole barn. Could the situation be as simple as replacing the o rings on the spools? Has anyone ever run into this scenario. If so is this a difficult task. I don't consider myself a mechanic, but at $1140 to replace with original eq. I will give it a shot. Does anyone know of a direct replacement aftermarket for the Nimco CV422. I have looked at the Brand hydraulics line but don't know what configuration to order. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are leaking out the bottom or back, the spool seals are shot, or if no seals, the spool is worn . You can replace the seals in the spool, but if the spool has no seals and is leaking, there is no replacement.

Is it leaking out the caps on the bottom?

As far as a new loader valve, what would like, a joystick valve with PB, or a two lever with PB?

How many GPM's does your hyd pump put out?

It is leaking out of the bottom. I downloaded the schematics for the controller and it shows seals that can be replaced. If I have to replace the entire unit I would like to have a single joystick with PB. The pump puts out 6 GPM. Thanks for replying-Keith

If it was me, I would look at the AGCO/MF on-line parts book for the break down of that valve. I would take it apart and change the o-ring. That is the spool that has a detent under the cap. If you take it a part there will be 3 ball bearing, a spring and a couple of other parts. Be careful when you take the cap off or the bearings will pop out and you will lose them. When putting it back together clean the parts real good and put Never Seize on all the parts. The parts kit is very expensive. Have the parts guy match up the spring or bearings if you need them from their assortment drawers. I have had to get the spring as close as I could as far as the compression strength goes, then recoil it for the right diameter and then cut it to length. The end needs to be pretty flat on the cut end.
Nimco will not sell parts to anyone except corporate customers like AGCO/MF.
Good luck and it really isn't as bad as it sounds.

Hi I found this thread and it matches what I am experiencing. I have a Massey 1428 with a 1464 loader . Controller is a Nimco CV422 2S 40272. Leaking is happening with my up/down spool with leakage in the back of spool. The seals i'm sure need to be replaced. Can you provide the process and where I can get the seals? Any Youtube videos on seal replacements? I would love to learn how and am pretty mechanically inclined
