I read an interview with a top Kubota exec in one of my engineering journals. He said the market was not large enough for a player like Kubota to enter at this time with their own design and manufacture product, but there was demand. He said they were investigating with a large manufacturer (or more than one). Could be rebranding with different appearance, could be a new Kubota engine installed in a chassis from a large player. At Cat we supplied some components to New Holland where they used them on their line with many of their components and the smaller Challengers were born. This appeared to be Kubota's path unless the source was throwing the hunters off the scent.
