I have a Yanmar 1500 and does anyone know the general lifting range is? I have been lifting 5 x 5 bales recently but I had to add an extra 200lbs (lead bars) to pick them up. I had to add right after I bought the tractor 150lbs (lead bars) to stablize the tractor for bushhogging and dirt work.

If you have added 350# to the front of your tractor to keep it on the ground, you are already exceeding the lift capacity.

You are taking serious risk IMO, handling bales that probably go 800# + on a tractor weighing app. 1350#. The question is not solely how much will it lift, but also one of it's ability to adequately & safely handle that load.

Wow, never thought a 1500 would pick up a 5 X5 round bale, at least not the ones I get. Bouncing around with a 4 foot bushhog with a FEL is enough for me! I guess if your on really flat land you can get away with it??
