Has anyone ever made or had made a universal joint style drive shaft for a 1500d.

I am having nothing but issues with my, keeps loosing the 4wd, because the steel balls keep falling out of place.

Therefor I was thinking that a ujoint might be a better solution.

Thanks,
Jeff

I've never done it, but it sure seems like it should work. My YM1110D and YM1301D both use universal joints on the front drive shaft. So does the YM1510D.

If you do put in universal joints , you'll also have to allow for a change in length. Before you go to all the work to do this you may want to replace the spring. I've come across a couple YM1500ds with this problem & the spring was not strong enough.

Thanks for the advice on the spring. I have already replaced it and the spring did not help.

When I look at the pinion in the front axel one of the groves is worn more then the others, which I beleive is the cause of the slippage.
