Bottom seal blew out on one wing of my 1508 while mowing. Gearbox is toast. Gears were already chipped and worn on this side anyway. Other gearboxes are in great shape.
Took off a bolt that seems to hold the stump jumper assembly to the vertical shaft that comes down from the gearbox, but can't budge the jumper off the gearbox.
Going to try to use some farm jacks to push it off, as the parts book makes it look like it is attached to a spline shaft, and should just slip off.
If anyone's done this before and knows how I should really do it, lemme know in case my project today fails. If it works I'll post back and let ya know how it went.
Probably don't have to take the jumper off to fix it, but I'ld like to work in it in the workshop instead of the weather, and maybe just take it to a dealer to rebuild.
