First off, I am very new to the tractor scene. I am enjoying my TC55da. But have come across an opportunity that I think I can't pass up.
I have found a Ford 1520 - Not sure of the year yet, I will find out this afternoon. 4wd with 7108 loader. 1686 hours. Tires have over 60% left and holding air. It has been outside and parked for 4 years. 8 Years ago it was purchased for $6000. Before it was parked it had a hydraulic hose leak, but ran fine.
I am going over this afternoon, to see if I can get it to crank. I know I can get it for $2500 (maybe less.)
Questions are. is the 1520 prone to any common failures. I don't need the tractor, it would simply be purchased to fix and sell. I know it will need all filters, fluids and a battery. Obviously at least one hydraulic hose. It seems as if these things sell for around $6,000- $8500. In my mind I can have about $3,000 in it and sell it for no less than $5,000. I realize with so few details there is not much that can be said. But would appreciate any details. My neighbor has a 1510 that I have used. It is a very handy size, just big enough to do light things, but then again just small enough to not be big enough!
Hopefully pics this afternoon.
