It turns out the hour meter portion of my tachometer isn't working. I've put probably 15 hrs on it and the hr meter hasn't budged. While doing a little interweb searching, it seems some of the tractors in this series require a little grease on the tachometer drive. Can anyone confirm this, and have pictures? I got an owners manual with it (Jens sales), but it turned out to be for the 1720 and there are definite differences. I have a DC hour meter I'll install to keep track of hours, as $550 for a replacement just for the hour meter isn't really worth it for me. The actual tach works, so I'm guessing the internals have a gear with busted teeth. When I do a partial tear down for reworking the lights (Need to add a couple switches for work lights) I'll take it apart and see what's up. Until then, the little DC meter will keep track for me.
I'm trying to find an actual service manual, but haven't found one yet. Plenty of reproductions, but I've found that those tend to miss things the factory includes and/or have horribly useless pictures.
Thanks!
