Price Check 1523 Price Question

Considering getting a little larger tractor and received this quote from a local dealer.

New 1523 with HST $11,400
New FEL...................$4,200

Is this a fair consumer price? It sounds like it may be a good price for the dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I suppose the HST really pushes the price of the tractor up because last night while surfing the web I found a MF dealer that I believe is in Stillwell, OK that is advertising a 1523, (regular trans I presume) a 5ft. Box Blade, 5ft. Brush Hog, and a 16ft. tandem trailer for $16,190.00 WAC and tax exemption certificate.

Carl, sorry I can't help you on price. I know you were a bit disappointed with your last deal. I'm curious about your rationale for the 1523 as opposed to something a bit bigger (1528 or 1531). I was at my dealer's last weekend and he told me the 1523 had the same engine as the GC2300. Are you sure the 1523 will pull the 5 foot boxblade and brushhog OK? Good luck; keep us posted!

You know, you're right. I guess I am just thinking about today and not the tomorrow. The reason for an upgrade to a compact is that the 1523 and other models have larger wheels and higher ground clearance. I only mentioned the box blade and brush hog that was in a packaged deal. Come to think of it, it could have been a 4 ft. If I can find the website again, I will post it.

At the present time my needs for a tractor is for the FEL, tiller, and associated farming implements. I didn't want to buy more than what I really needed, but, I might as well go ahead and spend the extra $$ now and get the 1531 and have more HP to the PTO in case I want to get a generator later.

I showed my wife the brochure of one model with an cab and all its features, but she suggested that unless it was large enough to put a bed in, I should get control of myself. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

In reference to an earlier post, I have finally located the website.
The package price for a 1523 4x4, a 1004 Massey Brush Hog, 4' Box Blade, and 16' Utility Trailer is $12,190.00 and not $16,190.00

Another package they have is a New Massey Ferguson 1528 4x4 Tractor with 16’ Standard Duty Trailer, 5’ Brush Hog and Box Blade package starts at $13,575.00
