Since I had decent weather today I thought I would knock down the tall grass in my pasture with the Mahindra and my 5' brush hog. Everything was going great guns and all of a sudden I loose almost all power. Idle only. Would throttle up to 1500 RPM's and then fall rather quickly and almost die until I took the throttle off. Wait some time thinking I got some dirt in the fuel as I fill it with a can, (I do try to be careful) So I take the filter bowl and filter off, inspect and reinstall. The Bowl does not re-fill. Not even after starting. Didn't run well either. Shut it off. Headed to house. Suggestions other than call dealer in the morning?

Blow back through the fuel line from the filter to the tank sounds like somethings restricting the fuel flow.

99.9% it's this and a very slight chance it's vapor lock from a defective cap.

I'll try this tomorrow...err later today if I can figure out how to do it. Done it many times on the old 9N. This set up is different. Thanks for advice will keep you posted on outcome.

My 3016 (same tractor as yours with a different #) crawled to a stop right where you see it. Just slowly conked out as if it ran out of fuel. I went back to the barn and got a screw driver and used this to bleed the bowl. I also took off the hose leading to the injectors and blew through that and bled some more at this point. Fuel bowl filled up, tractor breathed to life and off we went. I have no idea what caused this whether it was the cold, the hill and the load or a fuel feed problem such as a vapor bubble. This was the only time it did this and acted much as you describe your's is doing.

I bought one of those fine mesh funnels (not the expensive Mr. Funnel) and always use that during fill ups and still had the same trouble as described so I do not think it's crap in the filter.

Well guess I should update. I got my Tractor back 2 weeks ago and after the dealer flushed out the fuel system they said they had it ready. The dealer stated that they thought it had Gas or Kerosene in it. I am human so the possibility exists. I went and picked it up and low and behold it did it again as I was taking it off the trailer. Being the weekend and the dealer closed I tried to run it a bit here and about 2 days later it starts to hold RPM's. I now see a few chunks of debris in the fuel filter and she has run like a top ever since. Dealer changed the fuel filter out and I will change it again to be safe. My thanks for the suggestions and the helpful hints!
