Hello,
Hopefully someone can help me with an issue I'm having with my tractor. I have a 2018 mahindra 1526 shuttle shift. The forward & reverse selector has become extremely hard to move from forward to reverse some times it wont even do it. Last time i used the tractor it seemed like once i got it moving it worked all day but i loaded it on the trailer drove home & when i went to unload it was back it took everything i had to get it into reverse. Clutch is working fine so i don't think that is the issue, oil level is good.

After covering your common sense bases (Check gear oil level etc.), try this:
Basically, rust forms where the linkage rotates as it goes into the transmission. Follow the linkage down to where it connects into the transmission case. (Having someone else watch while you move the lever is helpful here) Lubricate that with a good quality fine oil (superlube, ballistol, etc). I believe the shaft goes all the way through the case and there's a part on the other side that rotates too. Put some on that as well. Work it back and forth a whole bunch - you can do this when the tractor is off. Repeat that every few days as necessary until it's working smoothly again.

Edit: I checked and there's another linkage to an additional shaft on the right side of the tractor. Make sure to lubricate all 3 shaft connections.

Yep, mine has a grease fitting on each end of that shaft.

Hey, that's good to know, and a much better solution. MAM corp must have recognized that was an issue at some point and made that change, unless someone modded yours.

Talking to me? The grease fittings are original with Massey Ferguson. It would be a major job to remove the shaft and associated components, drill the center for a grease channel to modify it, thread for zerks, then reinstall everything.
IMO the cheapest maintenance item for machinery longevity, is plenty of grease in the right places.
