1526 Trans oil Drain Plug Location

I'm doing my 50 hour service and I'm stumped...

Does anybody have a pic they can share of the drain points for the Transmission? (I found the two on the rear differential, but the one "below the mid-PTO gearbox eludes me).

This manual is very frustrating.

I already realized that the trans capacity is 18 Liters, not 8 Liters

Theres a guy on YouTube has got the same problem. He does his engine first. See `Massy Ferguson 1526 gearbox oil change`` Hope this helps.

I think I found it... he points to the differential drain on the left side and what I think is the location for the screen... there's a drain in there somewhere... a simple photograph in the owner's manual and this problem would have been solved before it happened. Thanks!

I had four drain plugs on my 1423, an your right my manual didn't make sense either. An the place to put the oil back in was where the hydrualic return is.

I took the left rear tire off and matched the drawing to the tractor... the drawing was for the Mid-PTO drain, which wouldn't have been too bad, except there was another reference to draining the Mid-PTO. The transmission drain is through the suction filter, so that's the third drain point. I can verify that it takes 18 liters not 8 liters (It takes 6 gallons to do the transmission and front axle)
