1528 seat problem

I have two 1528s that were purchased in 2005 and 2006. Both tractors have the old-style seats which consist of a gray seat cushion and a gray seat back which attaches to the seat cushion with two bolts on each side going in to a bracket on the top of the bottom cushion.

On both tractors the fabric covering on the seat tore through the top of the brackets fairly quickly. When I attempted to get some satisfaction from Massey they said it was normal wear and tear and they would not replace the seats.

I noticed later that they have changedd the seat style on the later models of the 1528.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I have a 09 1533 and the seat is already junk. I'm think i'm going to look for a good aftermarket one

I will get back to you on that. All the springs under the seat broke and were poking holes through the sides and I had to cut them out to stop more damage. So needless to say the cushion is not to comfy. My fat ***** didn't help im sure. I will PM you tomorrow. Thank you very much.:thumbsup:

I had that problem on a 06 Massey Zero turn with the same seat as my 1547 had, only had 200hrs on it so I sent it back and the dealer put a whole new seat on it, I'd push my dealer and send some letters to Massey, explain to them about this forum, and the contact you have with other owners and more importantly, future owners

I had seat problems also, but with the supention platform it's self 6 months after the purchase, fixed it at the dealer, then it broke again and massey replaced the whole platform. my seat it's self is still in good shape with 720 hrs on it. one small spot where the sovering is sown togather.

Mine is an 08 with only 136 hrs on it, the seat is still good, but not comfortable at all, I did look for an aftermarket replacement but anything that looked half decent was outrageously priced!!
