I've had my 1533 for a couple of months now and have a few questions or observations maybe someone can comment on.

When I turn off the tractor, there is a hum that continues for a few seconds towards the front, then a click, then all is quiet. Is that an electric fan?

The engine heating lamp comes on for much longer than I would expect in the Texas summer heat. I haven't been waiting until it goes out and it starts right up. The light stays on after staring for a few more seconds, maybe thirty. Seems that it shouldn't do that.

The most surprising and bothersome. When I am shredding, the tractor bounces quite a bit. My old John Deere 850 never bounced that I recall. I may just be going faster than I think. With the 850, being a geared tractor, you floored the pedal to get to PTO speed at whatever gear you are in and you are set. I think I usually had it in Low 2 or 3. It just had High and Low. With the 1533 HST, you can obviously vary your forward speed. I have been using Mid range for shredding. At a certain speed, it starts bouncing. Not good for the loader or my back. I can slow down to the point that it stops bouncing but it feels like I am going slower than I used to go with the 850. At what range do most set their HST for shredding?

Also, I have used the HST cruise so I don't have to constantly press the pedal. I does help, but I noticed I have to set it at a faster than the speed I want to cruise at because the speed will drop a bit after I release the pedal.

The bouncing is caused by the cutter putting weight on the rear of the tractor. The heavier and longer the wheel base is on a tractor the less it will bounce.

Preheaters are usually on a timer, they will warm the glow plugs for a certain amount of time.

Maybe some weight in the loader bucket when shredding?

Lowering the bucket lowers the center of gravity, and helps with the bouncing.

The hum is the egr valve. This is normal
The heat light will stay on for 60 seconds after starting
Check tire pressures for bouncing. Tires loaded?
Not sure on cruise. Just had it installed on my 2538 and it works perfect. I works with a magnet holding the pedal in place on mine. I think you have a rocker pedal so may be different.

When I shut mine off, there is a clicking an beeping noise from under the hood. I talked to the service guy about that and he told me what it was but I forget, what I did hear and remember is that it is normal.

I found the exact same situation with the HST cruise, I just choose a higher range, usually medium, to overcompensate.

I also notice the engine runs better/smoother as soon as the glowplug light goes off. I can shut my eyes and hear when the light goes off because the motor smooths out. It's a neat trick I play on my friends.

Thanks for the replies. Good to know about the EGR valve and the heater lamp. As to the bouncing, I will try to tweak things to see if I can improve it. I did run my old shredder much lower to the ground. I put the loader bucket almost to the ground too. I'll add some weight to it next time to see if that helps. The tires are loaded. Should that reduce or induce any bouncing. I seems higher pressure would cause more bounce. With loaded tires, what would the optimal pressure be?
