Im sure this topic has been run before... but not since I have been on the site. I was quoted an extra $1400 for the turb and I didn't go with it.... Everytime my 1533 chokes up now from the Box Blade, Deck or FEL (FEL is the worst... I NEED A TOOTHBAR) I just think ... why the h ell didn't I spend the measly 1400 for the near 20% boost in HP....I dont know....

Anyone else have regrets? Maybe 1528 owners... for not going 1531?

If nothing else just tell me it will be ok.

I bought a 1433 (same thing as your 1533 basically). And don't get me wrong, it's been a great tractor, and I'm glad I bought it. But yeah, I wish I had bought the 1440
the 1433 struggles sometimes with power and you know it just needs a few more.

My lesson is, once you decide on what size tractor you want, get the most HP in that size.
You may not always need it, but on those occasions when you do, you'll wish you had it.

I think it is worth it. I have had both. You get the turbo, a better radiator and a oil cooler. The turbo version cools much better and the pull is fantastic.

I've wondered if I should've gone 1540 a couple times, but not due to lack of power, maybe "more is better" mentality. I haven't been unable to do anything I would've been able to do with a turbo. I guess I'm actually fortunate in that I don't know the difference.

The only way I'll ever need more tractor is if I ever get into the cattle business. Then it'll have to be more than a compact.

I love my 1540 but I would bet an expert with a 1533 can do so much more than a 30 hr seat time novice like me. I think experience wins out most times over extra HP. BTW, I need a toothbar also....I have discovered hard clay doesnt care whether you have 33 or 40HP.....Remember, the main thing is you bought the right brand!;)

I have never needed the turbo (lucky me I guess), but for all you get for the cost, Yes I wish I had gotten the turbo.

The funny thing is that at the time of the purchase I was mostly concerned with the hydro flow as opposed to hp gains. I determined (for some reason, which I cannot recall) that my biggest concern would be hydro flow because I was afraid after paying big bucks for the backhoe I would be short of power.
Somehow in the mix I determined that 33 was fine for me cause the hydro flow was the same as the 40.

Oh well..... at least we are all in the same boat.... I think next time I'm at the dealer (which is about once a month) I'm gonna tell the sales reps about our experiences and tell them to encourage new buyers to go for the 40 because Jake Weaver recommends it.
