Tractor
Massey Ferguson 1533
I get tired of calling the dealer every time I get stumped with some tractor quandry so I decided I needed a shop manual. Called local dealer parts and he checked on ordering one. He called back and said MF manual was $175. I was figuring $50-$75 for one. He also said he could get them cheaper, but they hadn't been released to his supplier because 1500s were new models. He said in the next 6 months to a year he could probably get me one for under $50. I do know I can't find one online.

Anybody had this experience? Anybody priced manuals for a 1500 series tractor?

Just trying to figure out if this old boy is blowing smoke up my orifice. He's running for a local political office so I figured surely he wouldn't lie, but I'm kind of wondering. I haven't called any out-of-town folks yet, but I plan to.

If that is the right price, they sure have went up a lot since I bought them for a 1200 series and 1400 series tractor. I would check with another dealer before I bought. I bought two a full set, parts manual, tractor shop manual, engine manual, loader manual and backhoe manual with a MF binder for about $100 each. That has been a couple of years, but I still can't see them going up that much.

I'm going to try to call a place in Grove Hill, AL and one in Mobile and see what they say on prices. The old boy that quoted me I've known all my life, but $175 sure seemed high. I'll let everybody know what I find out.

Jerry, you said you got a complete set with shop manual and parts for tractor and loader? Is that 2 books for each model tractor and 2 books for loader or 2 books total for tractor and loader. I'm going to get it all if I order, parts, shop, loader, everything. I want to make sure I ask for the right stuff.

It was 5 manuals and two binders for each tractor. From my experience, you will have to name each manual. If you just tell them that you want a set, they won't order everything.

Thanks, Scotty. I don't know if I'm too dumb to find it, or if they don't have it, but I haven't had any luck with SSB. I have looked everywhere I can think of and searched every different phrase I could think of and still haven't found anything on the web.

I have used these guys with good success. They buy/sell so if you don't find your manual (not there tonight), keep checking back.

Thanks, everybody. If I ever get off this floating tin can, I'm going to find me a manual. 10 days left.

I found three manuals at SSB when I searched for Massey Ferguson 1500. To be sure that they are the right manuals, I would suggest you call them as they suggest at the bottom of their search page. They also have a link to all their MF manuals as one page.

I've already run the traps on SSB. The 1500 manuals they offer are for the older model ag tractors MF had at one time, I believe the 1505 was one of the models. MF also had some 15xx implements.

I can't fully confirm SSB's manuals because I am still waiting on their return call or e-mail. I've only been waiting since I talked to them last October.
