1538 or 2540, Trying to decide.

You have probably said why in the past, I just don't remember. Is there a particular reason that you seem to be stuck on getting a Mahindra?? There are lots of other manufacturers that are every bit as good in the same price range. You have been looking at a wide range of models, maybe you should be considering different manufacturers as well?

Only a suggestion from a current 2 Mahindra tractor owner.

Working with my dealer on the 1538 and we are pretty close. Trying to decide what to do with my 4' box blade and bush hog. He says he will do some trading with me on them also but we haven't discussed any prices on equipment yet. I may put them on Craigslist and see what happens first. As for the tractor we are down to haggling over the cost of loading the tires.

The 1538 will do everything you ask of it. Loading the tires is essential. A few of us have the older 16 series and these tractors are not as heavy nor have the torque of the new 15 or 38 series. Torque does the work and a 4 cylinder has more than a three cylinder every day of the week. What makes these tractors so viable is their ability to move and lift loads that belie their size. You'll love this tractor.

In traveling to my bil's horse farm in Paris, it seems JD "owns" Kentucky. None the less, you'll be happy with the "off brand".
