I have a 1541 cub cadet I bought 2 years ago with around 1200 hrs. I started her up the other day and was running fine when she started making a weird noise(rattle) that appeared to be coming from the motor. I shut her off and the front motor pully started leaking a fluid that look like oil(wasn't hot). It's hard to tell where the noise is exactly, but it will rattle when not moving. Any suggestions would be appreciated. New to site. Thanks

The only fluid that would be leaking from the engine would be oil. Check the pulley and make sure the bolt is tight. Perhaps the front seal is shot. Hard to diagnose the rattle online but with 1200 hours it could be bearings, valves etc. Might be time for an overhaul or engine swap. Check everything for tightness first, including engine mounts.

Where can I get a manual? She will run awhile before the noise starts, which baffles me? Thanks

It turned out to be the housing where the bearings where from the drive line had no grease. She's quiet now. Can the front oil seal be replaced by just removing the clutch. Thanks
