16' Diamond D Stock Trailer Lights

Okay, I was at home and notice the burning smell of the wiring. It smelt like Froot Loops!! I don't know whats going on with it. The lights were working till I was in the driveway and then they quit. AAAHHHH!!! I raise cattle on the cow/calf operation and I need to repair this quickly. What wiring to the truck should I use and what should I do??

SO, if I understand your diagram...your wiring melted at the bumper plug?

You could just replace the plug and hope that is where the short was...

or you are going to have to check continuity on the trailer and see if you have a short somewhere on the trailer itself...

It was kind of hard to explain. Also Its the plug into the truck's light...plug in. Its really wierd. Its been safety checked and everything. Its a round plug in.
