1620 parts?

Just wanted to put a feeler out... I have a 1997 1620 with a twisted loader and cracked engine block (good internals). Not sure if I'm going to fix or part out yet. Anyone out there have a parts machine with a good engine or know of an aftermarket source for a new block?

Just bumping this up -- mine is fine (94 1620 - newly adopted on hopefully long term loan from amazing friend) and we do have a great tractor place in town who should be able to get me parts when I need them, but I like to have resource options before I need them! If my shop closed or The Master of it retired, I'd be at a loss!

Thanks eventer. Still not sure what I'm going to do with this machine but I've been told that the engine block is not available anymore. It's also apparent that there aren't many 1620s around. I might be in the market for a tc30 in hopes that I can use my cab and other goodies on a similar machine. The 1620 has been a great little machine, can't tell you how much this thing has accomplished in the 8 years I've had it. The only beating it couldn't take was felling a tree on it...

That is a shame -- I had the same thing happen to my work truck this summer. Storm dropped a HUGE solid oak on the bed, camper shell, and boat strapped on top. Am glad it was not my personal vehicle but $5000 in body work later (bent frame, annihilated tailgate, cap, sides)...trees are the devil (says the biologist, LOL).

Not sure where you are located but this is our local shop, work on everything, buy and sell lots of old tractors of all types and are really great. Boyfriend has visited them with his '47 Ford 8N and his 2011 JD, and a good friend takes both his ancient MF and beat up Kubota there for many years. You could try giving them a call. It's small town, NC, run by good guys.

Sorry to hear about the truck....some of those trees are heavy!
Thanks again for the info. I'm up in Maine, so not exactly around the corner from me, but it's always good to have additional sources of expertise. See any used NH tractors around? I'd travel for a good deal on a tc 30 or 33...

There's a TC25 -- hey, the numbers are close, LOL. Dunn is about an hour and change south of Raleigh, just below Fayetteville.

There are a bazillion tractors for sale down here all the time of all brands. I'm not sure if people list them in a common location. There is also the NCDA ag classifieds:

There is a TC30 on there from October about 3/4 of the way down.

People do drive down here to buy stuff because we are out of the snow belt and there is a TON of active ag still.
