Got contract that requires 1000lbs pallets being unloaded but my Scut wasn't going to handle it. SO I was in process of trading my massey 1710 with backhoe for a 1626 with Backhoe but once I realized the price of the backhoe was $11,300 (Canada) I decided I'll never use it enough to make the price Worth it, so I'm not going to be taking the backhoe but since the 1626 with backhoe was within my budget I'm thinking of jumping to the 2638 with a cab cause it is right around the same price. I've never had a cab, I kinda liked the open air even in snow storms.... I felt very manly! Used to say " I can always find warm coat for way less than the price of a cab" that being said I'll be hitting 40 next year and that kinda talk sounds like it will be too young and dumb coming out of my mouth, especially in a few years, Considering Weather gets - 20 around my parts. The other side of the coin, just cause I can afford it now, doesn't mean I should get it. I already do tons a snow removal but my brother is nice enough to let use his 80HP kabuta when I need it. So should I stay with the 1626 with no backhoe no cab cause I like the compact size for my tight quarter propertie (trees) I believe the 26Hp should sufficient for my sugarbush wood/sap hauling or do I go bigger with a heated/AC cab and maybe add a snow blower and try to find more contracts to justify the extra HP or Will I keep wanting More HP in later years, will I just be Trading the 1626 in for something heated with a cab in 2 yrs. I do like the side by side pedals on the 2638. 1626 has weird rocker sort of pedal that might get real annoying doing all that loader work.. I know, I hear myself talking myself into it to. I like to hear Mahindra owners opinions specially if you Own either of these Tractors.

Canada, moving lots of snow at -20? Cab, heat and more power would be what I'd be operating..

I agree with atsah! i just traded my 2014 3016 Shuttle with loader for a 2638 HST CAB!!!! bit more money but i got good trade in deal IMO so i pulled trigger! i used my 3016 for plowing snow when i lived at the farm. same thoughts then, wear warmer cloths etc.... but those thoughts are long gone!!
also with my big feet (13's) side by side HST peddle is the ticket hands down. i test drove a L3901 and a 1538 HST 2 years ago there abouts! then i test drove the 2538 same day! was like YEAH this is IT!!!! When in doubt TEST DRIVE, then TEST AGAIN! lol
glad i did!

I'm beginning thinking the same thing but Do you think it could handle a 74" inverted snow blower? Or is it too small.

The 2638 could possibly handle it... depends on the required pto hp.. 2638 hst cab has about 30pto hp.
Probably be ok in the fluffy stuff, wet n heavey probably go alot slower.. my thinking is pick a width of tractor and keep the pto powered implements the same width. And get the most HP tractor you can get in that width!

Don't feel too bad of being almost 40 and not wanting to deal with the cold or heat and your desire for a cab. I just turned 39 two months ago and am contemplating the same thoughts of a cab or not, possibly even the 2538/2638. My issues are not if I will feel like less of a man but if I will like getting in and out of a cab to open gates and such. The more I think about it the more I think the 2538 with a cab will be the same floor height as a 2538 without a cab and both will still be less hassle than climbing onto my current tractor.
For what is worth I like the two pedal design on the 25/2638 over the rocker of the 1638.

I bought my cab tractor when I was 40. There was no way I wanted to be out in the snow/sleet/ice/freezing rain anymore. Did that when I was much younger, no desire to do it now.

I got the slightly bigger brother to the 2638, the 2655 HST Cab. It's a step up in HP and price but I run a 84" WoodMaxx snowblower on the back and an 8' Fisher plow on the front, chains on all 4 wheels. Even at 0 deg F outside I can get it so warm in the cab that I could be running the snowblower while sitting in my underwear if I wanted to.

You won't regret getting a cab but you might regret NOT getting one.

For me I won't have a need for a snowblower or to be running it to stay ahead of a storm, I say I won't have a need but chances are once in my lifetime I will.
Talking about a snowblower once my Dad said there was a blizzard in '78 that it would have been nice to have a setup like that to stay ahead but ever since I've been around you just wait till it quits and plow yourself out if you need to. Being I have a 4wd F 150 and my wife is in a Subaru we haven' 'had' to plow the driveway but I have busted a few snow drifts that I would have had to ram through.

Iwas surprised at how tight my 2538 turns. i do alot of work in the woods and it is even better than my smaller 2810. lots of power to.
