Massey 1635
Just thought I would throw up some pics of my new tractor. I'd like to thank everyone here for their advice (direct or otherwise - lots of information here).

Some details - Powershuttle, Rimguard loaded R4's, CB20 backhoe w/ mech. thumb, chain hook on bucket.

Powershuttle.

I forgot the bucket is the 66" HD SS. 16" bucked on the hoe, seems to dig our glacial till w/ no problem but it is quite wet right now.

Nice setup. I have a 1643 with the 66" HD bucket. For what its worth, I suggest getting a cutting edge to add some more strength to the bucket. I managed to bend my 'heavy duty' bucket while trying to dig out an apple stump.

How do you like the BH? I'd love to get one, but can't justify the cost to my wife...yet!

The tractor and loader were $23,300 and the hoe was $7900 for a total of $31,200. This was in August with 0% for 72 months. From what I have seen since it seems the hoe has gone up in price (and maybe the tractor too?).

The mechanical thumb was part of the deal. I was debating between a woods or massey hoe and the woods was roughly $1000 less with the couple hundred cost of the thumb on the CB20 factored in. When the dealer said he would throw the thumb in on the CB20 I signed for that.

I only have 20 hours on it sofar (winter now in the Catskills) but I have been very happy with it sofar. I read about how hard stumps were to get out but have removed 10 +/- and had to work at the 18" size, but 12" and under were not much of a problem.

I know it's an old thread but not much info on here about the 1635. I just purchased the same set up as you used and really like it. I am wondering if you have had any issues with it and if you know approximately how much it weighs?

I had the same question about weight. See below. Someday I will get it to the local scales and find out for sure what it weighs. Towing it behind my 3500 (gasser) there is no doubt it is there, and heavy. And I ended up with a 12,000# trailer for it.

No issues at all, sometimes the range selector can be stiff but that isn't a problem. I've gotten so I can take the hoe on or off in about 5 minutes.
