1643 and Extra hydraulics

Do any of you folks have rear hydraulics or front hydraulics say for a grapple on your 1643? If so, did you add them after the original purchase? Is it a true third function or a diverter valve?

I am interested in adding a set of rear remotes and front hydraulics for a grapple to my tractor. When I purchased the tractor I was told I could get a kit that was simple to install for the rear hydraulics. Have any of you installed this type of kit? Is there a kit for the 1643 that allows for front hydraulics for a grapple available?

Have any of you used an aftermarket type kid for your 1643?

click plus sign beside "accessories" and valve kits show up. ((contact a local MF dealer and get prices.))

click plus sign besides "hydrulic systems" and clicking on joystick. it would seem FEL joystick comes up through floor. if this is case it might be easier and cheaper to install an electrical diverter valve. you can buy joysticks that have a switch / button on the top of them for a "third function" say operating grapel. but not sure how things would work for your setup.

My Joystick is not in the floor. Its on the right hand rear fender. I don't see a kit for a front remote though.

Surplus Center has a lot of various hydraulic stuff, vs other online stores. check it out, and it might help a few light bulbs come on. and see what is available vs kit's you might get for your tractor. ya this is more DIY route. but it is more of learning what is available and what is possible thing.

Check out my posts on "MF 1440 rear remotes" the 1440 is very similar to yours, just older. It can be done if you take your time and think it through!

3rd function diverter systems are pretty easy, Rear remotes are a different story, sort of all depends on what you want. An exposed after market system, or a factory integrated system. Big difference with what you end up with, big cost difference also.

I priced the factory rear remotes. Parts alone are $1k per remote. So the parts for three factory rear remotes are $3K plus installation. I will be looking at other options before I that much money.

Boria, Here are a few pics of the one lever that I added and the linkage to the valve.Pics 4 and 5 are linkage to valve at the back of the tractor. Pic 3 the lever on the right is the one I added, it is attached to the pipe that runs to the other side and is on a pivot. 2 is the pipe running under the seat. Pic 1 is the tab on the other end of the pipe that is attached to the rod that runs back to the valve. Hope that helps.
