16LA FEL HD Bucket Cutting Edge Replacement

I have a 16LA HD Bucket on a 35D. I was wondering if anyone has had to replace the cutting edge on this type of bucket, and what is involved. Mine is pretty worn from using it on the driveway for snow removal.

The bucket edge seems incorporated into the bucket. I am wondering if you are supposed to weld new edge onto the old, or somehow cut out the old? Cutting out the old edge would actually cut into the side of the bucket. What did it cost?

I assume that you talking about the bucket edge and not the bolt on wear edge.

Are you drilled for the OEM bolt-on edge ?? If so, I'd go to your dealer and price it. Its about 1/2" thick, 6" wide and dual edged so you can eventually flip it. It has countersunk bolt holes for that smooth bottom finish !

If you're not drilled, I'd consider going to the local snow plow and get a length of cutting edge and then drill and bolt it on.

New Holland's cutter bar is a perfect addition to your HD bucket and around $180 plus the cost of the mounting bolts.

I agree with Jim, the cutter bar is great for scraping snow and ice. But for summer, interchange the cutter bar for a tooth bar for digging dirt. I have been told that a toothbar is like a bucket on steroids. (Mine’s on order) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
