Sorry for the multiple posts. I keep forgetting stuff. Dislikes, the little storage box on the 1723 is meh, But handy. would rather have the 3 point lever up higher as it sometimes hits my calf.

On my 231S, the PTO lever cannot be operated with the parking brake engaged. I'm going to cut the PTO lever to shorten it...problem solved.

I got a gently used 2017 GC1720 TLB that has worked out great for me so far. Not mowing with it but use it for the loader, backhoe and back blade. Love it so far. It is a great size for my needs. Amazing how strong it is. Just know it’s limits and have reasonable expectations. Great machine!

I have a 1715, so no back hoe..... But A 600 rear ballast weigh really helps if you are going to get something that weighs in about 500 pounds in FEL.... Also added 3 inch BRO-TEK spacers on rear, the extra 6 inches of width seem to make tractor more stable on side hill operation....Reduced the "butt pucker" factor some what....

I also think a 54 or 60 inch rear scraper would be max for 17xx... I'm leaning toward the 54 but have not convinced myself yet....

I'm picking up today my brand new 2019 GC1723E TLB great machine stick with the 4' BB U don't want to over work it, like stated above the 3 point folds up when the hoe is on, very handy.I have no problem with the 3 point lever my self you'll get used to it.

Got it. Thank you. I too thought that a 6' BB would be a bit much for a 1500Lb tractor. Do you have a mid mount mower? If so, how does it perform?

The 60" mmm is simply awesome, is all I could say. It motors through tall grass w/o a hiccup, where my garden tractor would normally struggle. As a result, I have cut down my mowing time quite a bit, not only because of a bigger deck (my gt has a 50" deck), but also because I could move along a lot faster while mowing. Gives a splendid cut, too.

To think, I almost sold that mower deck last year, the guys here talked me out of it. Thanks TBNers!

I have a 1723e with a 5' boxblade, which I use mostly for snow removal. It handles the lighter snow really well. I have dragged with granular material and it also pulls well. If you are in sandy material your tire traction will limit how much you can pull. Tire traction will limit what you can do regardless of box size. If you are in materials where traction will be an issue, chains will go a long way to help.

Was looking at a backhoe for my 1739e l got afew months ago. Was told to not get the 3point type due to a chance of bending the frame. I see there are 2 long frame supports that run front to back for this type of backhoe mounting. Anyone use this? Seems a good choice. Not interested in doing damage if l can avoid it...

Also I'm not sure what most are running for HP here but my 1739 pulls a King Kutter 72" fine. I went wide to cover my tracks. I believe it's 750lbs. Like some said, know the limits of your equipment. It'll last longer if it's not over worked...
