None of the instrument panel lights work on my 1715 ... so far I have only checked that the bulbs are good and the fuses good. Removed and cleaned bulbs and sockets.
Not sure exactly how they should work, but with the ignition key on, engine not running, nothing is lit and I can find no voltage to the oil pressure warning light ... which I assume would be lit with the ignition and engine not running.

Since there is no key "accessory" position, just glow plug to the left, off, on, start ... I figure there is no "all lights on" warning light check as seen on automobiles. But I'd think the oil pressure warning and perhaps alternator warning light would be on with the ignition in the run position and engine not running.

Are there any known problem areas that would cause this? I haven't pulled the dash and cleaned the harness connectors yet. Everything else seems to work fine, clutch interlock, lights, etc.
Thanks.

You are correct, amps and oil pressure should light with the key on and the temp light should light if the wire is shorted to ground. Do the headlights work with the key on? If neither the headlights nor the temp light works (when shoeted) it might be a faulty ignition switch. Otherwise, the wiring is simple to replace.

Did you check the fuses? Start at the beginning. Either power to cluster or ground.

Yep fuses all look good .... only has two fuses that I could find, in a fuse holder under the dash.

Headlights work. I will try shorting the temp sensor to ground and see what happens.

Here is a 1710 schematic. Probably close. My 1700 has a fuse box under the steering wheel. Not sure about the 1710, but thought it was similar. 2 fuses seem like not enough for the tractor with lights and stuff. Probably more somewhere else. Looks like there are fuses to the dummy lights, but maybe will help.

Yep, that's pretty much the same electrical system with the same two fuse box, one 5 and one 15 amp.

Found the problem, a poorly done splice job wrapped back up in the factory cable shield where I couldn't see it. Oil pressure light now comes on when the key is turned on and goes out after starting.

Thanks for the help.
