Here痴 the situation. Mine a 2014 with an OEM backhoe setup. When I went to put mine on after being off all winter I noticed it felt loose. Looking under there I saw a couple of those long 8 x 13MM bolts With the spacer sleeve that saddle the subframe to the axle were missing. No big deal i fabbed up a couple new ones from pipe.
My question is the bottom of the saddle and how it hooks to the underside of the axle. There痴 2 13MM short bolts that go down through the top fastening the ROPS base to the top of the axle. It痴 the bottom that bugs me. Looking under there ( if the pics post correctly) I see 4 13 MM on each side that line up nicely with the holes on the underside of the axle. The axle underside forms a flat pad drilled and tapped for something. Notice also that the open sided notches on the outer side of the subframe are oversized yet line up nicely with the somewhat smaller holes. Are there supposed to be bolts under that axle like seems logical?? Is there some sort of small spacer that goes in those U shaped notches?
I was wondering I壇 someone with an Identical tractor backhoe rig could peek under there and tell me if that subframe bolts up to the axle. It looks to me like someone missed half of them and the others are lacking an oversized washer to secure the subframe . As they are they are simply plugging the mounting hole doing nothing? Of course the manual shows nothing about the subframe. Could somebody either shoot me a pic or tell me the deal with this lower mounting pad. Here痴 a few pics. Not the best but I can稚 get the best camera angle because of the tire.

My first though would be bolts where never installed, do not see any scarring of finish where washers would have contacted base assembly....

Maybe parts/shop manual would have some clues... Use guest user to log in..

Thanks I値l have a look. No there痴 no scarring whatsoever, Virgin paint with no washer track. Those inboard bolts installed just recess into the hole doing nothing for the subframe . Seems Odd almost like they would be a bolt in there with some sort of a short cut down spacer in there to go between the threads in the sub frame I guess

Arrrrhhh I got into the parts catalog after a bit of fidgeting. They show the subframe itself as welL as related hardware , some of it. Unfortunately there’s nothing showing what holds it onto the tractor. There’s not even mention of the 4 long spacers and 13MM bolts and nuts on the outboard corners that clamp it to the axle and ROPS mount above the axle:confused3:

I'm guessing your dealer must have had a installation guide. Are you able to go back to them and ask?

While I do have the same tractor as you a 1736, I Do Not have a back hoe for it. I took a few pictures this morning of my tractor of the area where it seems like your Sub-frame mounts so you can compare, see attached. Hope these help, let me know if a different picture would help.

Thanks for those pics it answers all my questions hands down. That is the same gear I have. I lost one of those gray tubes and 2 of those bolts, the 8 ones. I made my own spacer tube. The question was those recessed bolt heads in between the 4 mount bolts. Yours are doing nothing just like mine. I guess they just sit there keeping gunk out waiting for another setup.

I wonder what other setup the 4 recessed bolts could be for? If anything I would have thought they would be for a back hoe, but as you have indicated they are not used for your back hoe setup.

Here’s a WAG, do you think those bolts might anchor some internal component? It would be interesting to remove one bolt and see if the very first layer of cast iron is threaded or is the hole “clearanced” so that the threads start in some second layer of metal.
