I'm between a shiny new 1742 TLB or a slightly used 1648 TLB with 175 hrs. Both are comparably priced. Which way would you go?

The 1648 might be more reliable, given that it isn't Tier IV emissions, and it's a larger tractor with more horsepower on a larger chassis.

I really like my 1648. I've got around 215 hrs on her now and she's been perfect. But, I could definitely use another 10 HP for some of my chores. The loader is pretty strong. The cab is comfortable. The tractor as a whole seems to be as high quality as any of the other brands, if not better.
But for you it will all come down to uses & needs. Using my stump grinder, there are times when I use every available ounce of HP, so the 1742 probably wouldn't cut it (for me).
Also, the DL130 loader is quite a bit stronger than the DL120...
