1864 ch 18 Kohler over reving

Hi i took my cub cadet out this past weekend out of storage turned it on and when throttle leaver is at full throttle the engine sounds like it's over reving or running away. If you bring it back down it idles nice. Any clue why this is happening? Thanks for the help

Did you use stabil or something like it in your tank over winter storage? If so that's usually what causes it. Just run the throttle lower until you use up the old gas so you can fill with fresh.

Also take off the air filter and check the throttle linkage. It tends to bind up right on top of the engine. Spray it with wd40 and work it all back and forth. Make sure the springs all function.

While you are at it spray some carb cleaner down the carb and clean it good.
