Our modern snowmobiles are far better but Henry's machine is pretty clever for the time.

I saw that the other day... Pretty neat..!!

Then saw Henry bouncing around, and those "screws" turning towards the center... Wow..., one little slip, and it wouldn't be pretty..

I was amazed at the machine pulling the tandem sleds of logs...

A couple of guards over the screws, and shields over the chains on the back. I think it would be a pretty neat machine..!!

The russians had their own screw drive. I suppose the screws were a bit more abrasion resistant to be able to withstand stones and trees.

Early Fordsons had a worm gear drive differential, but nowadays every manufacturers uses bevel gears, because of so much less friction... Using "worm wheels" instead of standard wheels will also have this poor efficiency.
