Do you happen to know of a good wheel and tire distributor on the net? thinking about offering $500 and see what happens. Atleast then after i replace wheels and tires I should be about in the appropriate price range of a comparable 9N.

Do you think I should put a liquid ballast back in replacement rear tires?

Worst case scenario, if the rake is too heavy, I could just put a 5' or 6' finish mower on it.

miller tire is a trusted supplier of tires for many machines. if you order tire/tube/rims combo's.. you used to be able to ge tthem pre-assembled.. a time saver. etc. Incedentially.. those prices i quoted you were from his site.. he's usually pretty cheap. ya might luck out and find a local mom-n-pop shop that might beat them a lil bit.. perhaps a cheaper/less expensive tire.. or rims on hand already.. used set.. or old stock they need moved.. etc.

Ballast is up to you.. depends on what yo are doing.. if owing and raking.. i doubt you need ballast. if you were plowing, discing, 9 any ground engagement.. or heavy load pulling ) or had a fel.. I'd say go with ballast.

if i went with ballast.. go with something like rv antifreeze.. I like to use the poly-prop 'safe' stuff. cacl is still cheaper per # than anything else.. but unless you practice judicous care and celan up and fix leaks.. don't go with it.

A averge 9n should run a 6' finish mower decently.. or a 5' rough cut mower.

a good N lift should pick up 800#.. though the front end will get light.. might toss some weight on the front bumper..
