Hello.
New to the forum Looking forward to chatting with all of you guys.

Was pulling the tractor to start it. In 4th gear. Was trying to start, when suddenly the wheels quit turning the engine. Clutch engaged or disengaged, nothing turns.

Can slide the gear shift lever to the left out of 4th, but it will not travel down to go into neutral. Engine turns fine with the flywheel. Did something (shift dogs) come loose in the tranny? If so, how big a job is that on this beast?

Any advice / suggestions much appreciated.

Roy

Well, I was certainly hoping someone would come along with some advice.

Not meant to be, I guess. :anyone:

Sorry you are having a problem with the G. You could pull the plugs to take away the compression. If the motor spins then it is likely in your drive line. Can you remove the gear shift plate and take a cursory look in the transmission? Have you checked the transmission oil for particulates? Good luck, maybe someone with experience on that tractor will chime in.

My knowledge of G's is limited but I agree in you're going to have to remove shift cover and have a look! I think the problem will be in the overdrive/underdrive(Hi-lo). I suppose the clutch snaps in/out as it should???
