1940 Allis-Chalmers Type B standard AC Hydraulic Pump off PTO and orig. dual Plows

I have a problem with the hydraulic pump on my AC Type B 1940 tractor. The pump lifts the plow levers but they will not stay locked in the up-position. What is the problem with the Hydraulic Pump and how or where can i get it resolved?

I have the same trouble with my 53 b, the cultivators bleed down, I figure it's probably a check ball or something in the valve section, dirty or something. Just made me a chain with a hook at the rear of the tractor to hook and hold the cultivators up while going down the road from garden to garden. Maybe one of these days i'll get it fixed when I have time.

Hi 1648nc,
I just dropped-off my hyd pump to Northland-Willette Inc (NW) of Plainville, MA to be refurbished. I took one look at AC's instructions for R&R'g a pump, and immediately figured that I did not have the tools to get into it. There are small springs in the relief valve that could break or disintegrate and move into the unit causing leakage. Plus if you remove a thimble from a valve you have to replace with a new piece; NW can make them up. I can't do that.... So deliver it to someone who can.
