1940's Allis Chalmers Tractors (2)

Awesome looking tractor! I've never seen anything like it, and being here in lower Alabama, I've seen some old timey tractors.

A lot of people around here buy old tractors like that and even if they can't fix them, they'll clean/paint them up and put them on display by there barns or elsewhere for people to gaze at when passing by their house. It adds to the "country ambience". It's not uncommon to see people pulled over on side of the road taking pics etc.

BobG I would say that you are right about them being collectable. They sold For: $6,276.00
Does that sound like a reasonable price? I was expecting much less because of the location and the sealed bid auction.

Doesn't surprise me a bit as the buyer was going to get 2 for one money. No matter what, the buyer would get at least one complete running/almost running tractor, as he's also got hot spares in the shed next to the one he decides to redo....As far was where it is, Some of the best known old iron tractor collectors in the world are up in your neck of the woods. Sask and Manitoba have a whole lot of BIG farms.......with lots of nothin' to do about this time of the year, except keep the livestock from freezing to the ground where they stand.....and redoing old tractors....Have a good day! Well.. I'm not typing the message again.. however... 6K for 2 non runners is extreme premium money. I realize the sheet metal is good.. but they went high...

I agree. I would have expected $1500-$2500.

Do we know they are non runners?? Back here, a running, decent shape G would bring $3500. 'Course some folks have more dollars than sense....bobg in VA

I may be mistaken.. but i thought i remember someone saying they were stuck.. or not running. And it that was the case.. I'd expect about 1000-2500$ for them.

if they ran.. and were sold sealed bid as a pair.. then 4000-6000$

Sold singally, as running or at open auction.. 3500-4000 ech..

That's the prices in my neck o' the woods anyway.

To have gotten nearly 7k on a silent auction.. I think they went high.. IMHO.
